Why did you decide to work for TRIO?

During my time as a student teacher, I became very invested in working with my high school students to inform them about college, financial aid, resiliency and college applications. Shortly afterward an opportunity presented itself, and I began working with the TRIO programs. As a TRIO alumna of both Upward Bound and Student Support Services, I knew I wanted to impact students as my TRIO mentors had impacted me. Working for Student Support Services at the University of North Texas has opened a wide variety of opportunities for me professionally, personally and academically. Most importantly, I know “TRIO Works!”

What is your favorite place on campus? Why?

Bruce Hall cafeteria! It has a great variety of food, it’s a good “leg-stretching” distance from Sage Hall, it has its own urban legend ghost story and they have faculty-staff discounts on Thursdays.

Personal Fun Fact:

I love traveling, and I would like to write a children’s book someday.
