Why did you decide to work for TRIO?

When I learned about the open position in the TRIO / Talent Search program, I decided I just had to jump at the opportunity to become a part of this wonderful program!  I have spent years working in areas that help children and families reach their potential so coming to Talent Search seemed to be a natural progression.  I enjoy being able to provide guidance and insight to children and young adults to help them pursue their dreams and reach their potential.  TRIO gives me that opportunity.

I am very excited to be a part of the TRIO "family"!

What is your favorite thing about working with students?

Working with students allows me to be "young at heart"!  I can't wait to help channel their boundless energy into life goals and share in their excitement when their college journey begins. Ms. Birden currently serves students attending Calhoun Middle School and Denton High School.

Personal Fun Fact: I come from a large family comprised of 20 aunts and uncles, 5 siblings, 11 nieces and nephews, and too many cousins to count!  With that history, it's only expected that I have a large family of my own.  I have 7 daughters and 1 son!  My personal family consists of biological, adopted, and step children.  My husband and I are the proud grandparents of 4 of the most beautiful grandchildren ever!  We love traveling and creating memories with our family.
