Diana Adams Elrod, Ph.D. Dr. Elrod has 18 years experience working with this and other TRIO programs (UB, UBMS, and as a McNair mentor). She holds a Ph.D. in Biology, has numerous publications, and is actively involved in many professional organizations. Diana is in the first generation in her family to hold a college degree and is the first in her immediate and extended family to have a doctoral degree. Her advising skills were developed through previous employment working with both underrepresented and low income individuals as a pregnancy risk counselor. Rebekah Samaniego The current McNair technical editor has five years of combined experience with TRIO programs (McNair and UB). Rebekah is a McNair alumna and is the first person in her family to hold a college degree. She has a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in English and has presented her research at national political and social science conferences. Rosa Fonseca The current scholar adviser is a former participant in both the McNair Scholar Program and Student Support Services. The first in her family to attend college, Rosa has a B.A. in Political Science from UNT and is currently in the Political Science master’s program, where she is studying international relations and comparative politics.
